Keto Chocolate Cookies

Keto Chocolate Cookies

These keto chocolate cookies are rich, sweet, and filled with sugar-free chocolate chips. They are so good you'll want to make a double batch!

Absolute bliss - that is what you'll feel as you take the first bite of these keto chocolate cookies.

I'm a known chocoholic.

I love how complex different types of chocolate taste. From the almost overpowering flavors of dark chocolate to the creaminess of milk chocolate (and everything in between), there is so much to love about it!

Cookies are already really easy to make, but these keto chocolate cookies are even simpler. In fact, they have an irresistible brownie texture that makes them a hit at birthday parties!

Why You'll Love It

These keto chocolate cookies are perfectly chewy with just enough chocolate flavor to make you smile.

If you have started to think that all keto recipes are boring or have some funky aftertaste, then you haven't made these cookies.

Not only are they one of my favorite dessert cuisine recipes, but they are filled with sugar-free chocolate chips from ChocZero that make them even more desirable.

They are the perfect keto dessert because even kids can't tell they are sugar-free. Every single bite is pure heaven!

They taste as good as they smell - and they smell like you walked into a chocolate bakery.

So if you are fighting a chocolate craving, give in to it and make a batch (or two) of these amazing cookies! They fit within your macros and keep you in ketosis.

Ingredients

These keto chocolate cookies have just a few simple ingredients. In fact, you might already have them in your pantry, especially if you enjoy baking low-carb desserts.

Low-carb flour

I used almond flour as the base for this recipe. Remember to use almond flour, not almond meal. Almond meal will make the cookies have a grainy texture.

I do not recommend replacing it with coconut flour. This will make the cookies drier and change the consistency.

Keto sweetener

The best type of sweetener for these cookies is Swerve confectioner's sugar substitute. It is basically a sugar-free powdered sugar and gives the cookies a fantastic fudgy texture.

You could also use monk fruit sweetener, but it will slightly change the texture of the cookies.

Tip: Check out my post on all things low-carb sweeteners and find the one that works best for you!

Cocoa powder

Unsweetened cocoa powder is what makes these cookies chocolate cookies. Use your favorite brand!

Chocolate chips

To really make the chocolate cookies stand out, add some sugar-free chocolate chips to the batter.

I used ChocZero unsweetened chocolate baking chips!

Baking ingredients

You'll also need melted butter (or softened butter) and some eggs. For these cookies, I didn't need either baking soda or baking powder. They set up with the perfect texture without them.

Tips

  • Use dark chocolate chips. If you want a richer chocolate flavor, use different types of sugar-free chocolate chips.
  • Use a cookie scoop. This makes sure that each cookie is the same size before you bake them.
  • Dust with powdered sweetener. Not only does it look beautiful, but it tastes amazing too.

Instructions

These keto chocolate cookies are so easy to make that kids can help you bake them. They are the perfect last-minute dessert for busy weeknights!

Here's a bit more information about how to make them:

Mix ingredients

Using an electric mixer, combine all the ingredients for these low-carb chocolate cookies (except the chocolate chips).

Fold in chocolate chips

Gently fold in the baking chips. Basically, add the chocolate chips to the batter without overmixing it.

Place on baking sheet

Next, form the dough into evenly-sized balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and press them, so they are flat.

Bake and cool

Finally, bake the cookies. Then, let them cool completely on a cooling rack. They are ready for you to enjoy!

Variations

Even though these are a bit richer than traditional chocolate chip cookies, there are a few different ways you can make them.

Use different baking chips in them. Instead of milk chocolate chips, use sugar-free caramel chips in these keto cookies. Then, drizzle some sugar-free caramel sauce on top!

Or, make your own version of a peanut butter cookie sandwich. Spread your favorite type of nut butter on a cookie and then top with another cookie. It tastes like a cookie version of a peanut butter cup.
